My Opinion Of The Agbada Trend Among Nigerian Women And What It Represents.

Agbada is a full leg length or Knee length trouser worn over a big regalia. It is worn mostly by men From the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria. In recent times, there has been a shift of its wearers from men to women. Today, you could bump into a woman looking fab and utterly gorgeous in an agbada regalia.

So, the shift of the trend does it represent anything at all?

To me, when I see a lady rocking an Agbada, she looks powerful. Yes, like royalty. She looks like the King! Not some wussy beautiful queen that's only seen but not heard. Have you ever seen a woman on agbada looking like hell warmed over? (Me, I never see o)

A woman in Agbada represents a liberated woman. Yes, she's symbolises someone liberated in the way she thinks. Someone who doesn't play the second fiddle. She's on the fore of the game. A woman who doesn't leech on men's glory. Or the opinions of the society of her. I mean a woman who has a clean clear mind of her own.

Also, a woman in Agbada represents originality. When you see her, first thing you note is that, African Africans are generous with fabrics. I mean, how more African can you be in an  Agbada. She doesn't look like some Europeanised lady forcing her curvy African body in some tight jeggings( on that note I plead guilty as well).

Finally, a woman in Agbada symbolises a woman with a good taste in fashion. I mean, women just look fab in it. Like it was originally made for us. After all, what a man can do, a woman has already done it better!

PS: All this qualities are actually what we possess. The Agbada regalia just happens to accentuate them.

Happy Sunday!
Love you loads.
